This course is for students with CLB's 3 and 4. By the end of this course students will be able to identify the  layout of forms; find specific information ~ get overall meaning; identify type and purpose of text ~ get key information and specific details from graphics ~ compare facts to make choices. Identify specific factual details and inferred meanings in an audio mediated listening text. Read and interpret two tables of statistics related to Canadian internet shopping to develop their skimming and scanning. Talk about on-line shopping and then write an e-mail message to a friend. Present information about purchasing items on the internet in a coherent connected discourse ~ use simple grammar structures, with clear present, past and future time reference; and personal and textual reference ~ use vocabulary adequately ~ provide accurate, detailed descriptions ~ speak with appropriate eye contact, body language, voice volume, rate, fluency and intelligibility.
